What is driving you to make a change. Let's get clear about the values that inspire you; be it ‘greening’ your business, or a broader ESG commitment. These values and passions are going to underpin your work. Where do they come from and what are they?
Now. And down the road
What is the vision that holds you? Or do we need to go on a journey to make it clearer. Great leaders are often communicators of a possibility that motivates others to join in with their plans. And your vision probably needs a timeline too.
Team. Tools and timing.
Doing things differently means making different choices. Where do you start, who needs to be involved, and who might be allies buying into your vision. What analysis is needed and what is the story to share with stakeholders.
What are the financial, legal and accounting issues (some may be statutory or close to being so) impacting on your choices.
Seeing it through
How do you execute your plan? How do you enrol key people into the plan. What resources are needed over what time frame. This is about making a plan and working out how to best see it executed, which includes dismissing competing plans or ways of doing things, and being ready to meet objections.
